Sharon
Housing Partnership
Meeting Minutes June 8, 2010 APPROVED 9-14-2010
In attendance: Susan Saunders, Jane
Desberg, Alan Lury and Mary Tobin. Lou Modestino arrived late.
Meeting started at 7:25 PM
9 Glenview Road Update
This affordable single family property
closed on Wednesday, June 2. Sale price was $187.6 K. Jane Desberg approximated that rehab of the
property cost ~ $26 K. A family with three young children was the buyers. The
remaining money after the Town is reimbursed for repairs will be put into the
Housing Trust account.
CPA Application
The Finance Committee did not support the
SHP application for $20,000.00 for CPA funds to do a survey of Town owned
parcels suitable for affordable development. The group agreed that Eric Hooper,
DPW Superintendent, and Peter O’Cain, Town Engineer, should be invited to meet
with the SHP to discuss what work the DPW is able to commit to this effort. Jane will work on setting up a meeting during
the work week for available members of the Partnership to meet with the
DPW. It is important that we get an
answer regarding what the Town employees are able and available to do
concerning the land survey before we go back before the CPC in regard to
funding issues.
Open Meeting Law
Alan and Lou still need to take the
online ethics test to become certified and comply with new state regulations.
Susan, Mary and Jane have completed the exam.
New Business
Mary Tobin will contact Norma Fitzgerald
from the Sharon Council on Aging concerning working with the Council toward
affordable housing goals.
The group discussed confusion regarding
asset limits for affordable housing.
There was some confusion on what the income limits are set for elderly
vs. other affordable programs. Jane will
look into this and report back.
The group discussed the status of the
septic system planned for Post office Square and DeLapa apartments. Jane will send Eli Hauser an email to
inquire.
Meeting Adjourned at 8:15 PM.
